This is a story about art and cuisine, inspired by Henri Toulouse-Lautrec and Maurice Joyant’s cookbook The Art of Cuisine, and by other artists.
On the Cuisine And Art pages you will find short stories with recipes inspired by Damien Hirst, Richard Avedon, Maurizio Cattelan, Paul Gauguin, Juan Gris, Joseph Beuys and many others. I had a lot of fun choosing them, writing about them, cooking, making photos, and especially eating.
The sister series Remains (2013–ongoing) looks at leftover plates and the ritual of eating: what people have, and what is missing. Around 25,000 people die of hunger each day, while about 250,000 tonnes of food is wasted every day in the EU.
